What we eat can affect our skin's natural defenses. Anti oxidant rich foods can help boost the skins ability to fight free radicals, the harmful chemicals generated by UV radiation, especially in summer.

So go ahead - eat your way to a well-protected skin this summer, by comsuming the following foods:

Sunflower seeds (packed with copper, a mineral that is used by the body to make melanin which is a natural sunscreen)

Red grapes (contains powerful anti oxidants that help combat UV damage)

Rye bread (rich in ferulic acid, a compound that protects plants against UV rays and has a similar effect on humans).

Never forget the sunscreen though; it should be a vital part of your daily skincare regime.
