It is believed that a dash of soy sauce a day can help fight heart damaging substances linked to smoking, obesity and diabetes.
Researchers at a University in Singapore state that the reason for this is that dark soy sauce contains 10 times more antioxidants found in wine (which is also good for the heart when consumed in moderation). Soy sauce can be added to salad dressings, marinades and stews.
A warning though – Soy sauce has a high salt content which can raise blood pressure levels so one should look out for the low salt versions.
