The Best Way to Maintain Inner Calm

Using your thumb and forefinger, press the area between your ankle and your
heel on both feet. These are ayurvedic marma points, or emotional energy
centers. Pushing on them ensures that emotional energy flows throughout the
body, so you feel 100 percent at ease.

The Best Way to Fall Asleep Fast

To keep the stress of a hectic day from following you into the night, try
this self massage trick: Roll a towel so it creates a "tube" about 3" in
diameter. Place it on the floor and lie on top of it so the towel extends
vertically down your spine, with the top edge between your shoulder blades.
Relax for 5 minutes, allowing your chest muscles to expand. this releases
pent up tension in the back and shoulders and allows for deeper breathing,
which shuts down the body's stress response so you can drift off to sleep
with ease.

The Best Way to Unwind After a Long Day

Your ticket to instant ahh: Soak a hand towel in warm water and squeeze out
the excess. Place fresh lemon slices in the center of the towel and roll it
up. Microwave for 30 seconds, then place it around your neck. The warmth
relaxes shoulder muscles, while the lemon scent helps soothe the nervous
system.

The Best Way to Melt Away Stubborn Tension

Run hot water over two large stones (about 3" in diameter) for 45 seconds.
Lie down in a quiet place and hold the rocks in your hands. Massage
therapists say applying heat and light pressure to the palms triggers a
bodywide relaxation response.
