Spring through fall, Sun Mountain Lodge offers a wide range of activities. Over 100 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding lace the countryside. Fly-fishing, river rafting, canoeing, tennis, golf and an entertaining children's program are available. During powder season, Sun Mountain Lodge turns into a winter wonderland. Glide onto the second largest cross-country ski trail system in the U.S. right outside your door. Ice skate high above the Methow Valley. Or go for a sleigh ride and let the horses do the work. Then come back and relax in the hot pools or enjoy one of many spa services. Sun Mountain Lodge has achieved international acclaim with awards for the hotel, guestrooms, cuisine and wine list. Inspired by its magnificent natural setting and colorful history and culture, Sun Mountain Lodge truly imparts a sense of harmony with its surroundings. The main lodge and its guest accommodations seem to have been hewn from the mountain itself, with huge beams, wood ceilings and walls, a split-log bar, carved mantels and desktops, and massive stone fireplaces. The resort boasts 102 mountaintop guest rooms and 13 lakeside cabins. All resort rooms offer spectacular views, coffee makers, robes and hairdryers.

Sun Mountain Lodge is an all-season mountain resort offering an endless choice of healthy and ambitious activities for all ages and skill levels. When the snow flies, Sun Mountain Lodge is transformed into a winter wonderland. The Methow Valley Sport Trails Association (MVSTA) grooms over 200km of cross country ski trails for you. The Methow Valley Ski School, located right in the main lodge, provides equipment rentals and lessons. There is downhill skiing and snowboarding at nearby Loup Loup Ski Bowl. Take a spin around our ice skating rink, go for a sleigh ride, build a snowman, or go sledding on our sledding hill. Winter offers fun for the whole family at Sun Mountain Lodge.In summer, there is horseback riding, the Cowboy Camp Dinner, and the Buckaroo Breakfast. Float the Methow River on a scenic or whitewater raft trip with Osprey River Adventures. Rent a mountain bike and ride our extensive trail system. Go fly fishing with North Cascade Flyfishing Adventures. Rent a canoe or kayak and paddle Patterson Lake. Golf at nearby Bear Creek, Alta Lake or Desert Canyon Golf Courses. Northwest regional ingredients, with a focus on the freshest product at hand, distinguish the Sun Mountain Lodge dining experience worthy of its many awards. Sun Mountain Lodge is equally proud of its wine list and 5,000 bottle cellar which features many award winning Northwest wines, some of which can only be found at the Resort. Opened in 1998, the cellar was designed to mirror the classic cave cellars of Europe. Designed by NBBJ of Seattle, the cellar features stone and ironwork by local craftsmen, as well as a large cherry wood dining table with seating for 14.
