Jackies on the Reef, a new age spa on four acres outside of Negril, offers a peaceful and supportive environment in a spacious and serene setting. Nestled on a coral reef, you can loll in a hammock, lounge in a relaxation pool, or spend time reflecting in the meditation garden. Here, you will do more than just get a good massage; the purpose, according to owner Jackie Lewis, is to get the soul in shape and the emotions in balance.
The ambiance here is rustic, tropical, and laid-back. New Age music sets the mood, and dress is casual, such as swimsuits, shorts, and t-shirts. The simple rooms offer a double bed and private bathroom; floors in every room are hand painted to create a unique atmosphere, and each room is tastefully furnished and decorated for your comfort and relaxation.
Meals are healthful and prepared with local produce. Fish or chicken is available, and vegetarian diets can also be accommodated. Dinner is usually an intimate affair, served at a small table on the veranda.
Spa treatments include massage, facials, and herbal scrubs, as well as some less standard offerings such as ear candling and past life regression (purchase of treatments is required for stays of 4 nights or longer).
Additional activities available in the area include horseback riding and nature trips. While the spa is located on a reef, and the waters are sometimes choppy, Negril's 7-mile long beach is just 15 minutes away.
